Description

L.R.A. Enterprises Auto Museum and Sales present this Numbers matching Plumb Crazy 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda with 11317 original miles.
The redesign for the 1970 Barracuda removed all its previous commonality with the Valiant. The original fastback design was deleted from the line, and the Barracuda now consisted of coupe and convertible models. The all-new model, styled by John E. Herlitz, was built on a shorter, wider version of Chrysler's existing B platform, called the E-body.
Three versions were offered for 1970 and 1971: the base Barracuda (B.H.), the luxury-oriented Gran Coupe (B.P.), and the sport model 'Cuda.
The high-performance models were marketed as 'Cuda deriving from the 1969 option, and with the E-Body providing a larger engine bay, the vaunted 426 Hemi was made available.
Hemi-equipped cars received upgraded suspension components and structural reinforcements to help transfer the power to the road. The heavy-duty Dana 60, with a 9.75 in. ring gear, was standard equipment with manual transmissions and 426 Hemi engines.
This excellent Plum Crazy example has been fully restored, perfect, and correct. The story behind this amazing Mopar is as amazing as the car itself. After being purchased new in a small town in Wisconsin, the owner sold the vehicle when he found out he was expecting his first child and needed money to buy a house. The car was sold locally to a farmer, where it remained for the better part of 30 years. As the years passed, the original owner kept in touch with the second owner and, for decades, attempted to purchase the car back. The farmer declined even though the car was no longer running, effectively turning into a Barn Find. Finally, the second owner finally agreed to sell the 'Cuda back to her original owner.
The car was restored by the original owner and his now much older son before coming into our inventory.
Fully Authenticated by Galen Govier, this car is fully documented with restoration receipts, original newspaper clippings from 1970 when the car was originally purchased, and newspaper articles when it finally returned to its original owner. The original window sticker and manuals are included.
One of the rarest and most sought after muscle car collectible that will continue to rise in value. This Plum Crazy Hemi is stunning and will make a valuable addition to any collection.
